The last few years a global consensus has grown that hydrogen will be the fuel of the future. Technological breakthroughs in small scale hydrogen production methods made clear that on-site generation of hydrogen is the most desired way to build the hydrogen economy. Therefore a growing need for small scale on-site hydrogen generation will occur in the next decade. It is HyGear's mission to develop and manufacture products that can generate hydrogen on demand in a reliable, cost effective and environmental friendly manner.

Standard Hydrogen Generation Systems (HGS) available cover a range of 5 Nm³/h up to 250 Nm³/h hydrogen output with a purity of 99.999%. They are delivered with a CE-certificate and a 12 month warranty period. HGS systems are used for the on-site generation of hydrogen either to be used as process gas for industrial use or for hydrogen fuelling stations.

Besides in pure hydrogen generators, HyGear is also active in the area of hydrogen generators for fuel cells. Solutions in this area are often elaborated in close cooperation with an OEM with HyGear performing contract based development up to the level of a first prototype or small series. Usually exclusivity and licensing is involved.
